Frequently Asked Questions
At Dive with Eva we believe that an informed diver is a confident diver. Below you’ll find the answers to the questions we receive most often.

- ≥ 2 weeks prior to activty : full refund minus cancellation fees of 200 MXN.
- < 2 weeks or no show: deposit non-refundable

What’s included in the rate?
All our prices include:
- Transportation from Tulum center (our tank filling station) to the dive sites
- Full dive equipment
- Cenote entrance or boat fees
- Snacks and drinking water
- Tips are not included but always appreciated if you’re happy with the experience!
What dive equipment should I bring? Do you rent gear?
We provide all the necessary dive equipment, which is well-maintained and in excellent condition. We offer both 3 mm and 5 mm wetsuits to suit different sensitivities to water temperature. You’re welcome to bring your own gear if you prefer — it’s always a great option!
What is the water temperature like?
In the cenotes, the water temperature stays a refreshing 25 °C (77 °F) year-round. In the ocean, it varies between 27 °C and 31 °C (81 °F to 88 °F), depending on the season
Can we do a Discover Scuba Dive in the sea?
While it’s possible, we don’t recommend it as your first experience. Ocean conditions can be unpredictable, and the shallow depth (around 6 m) often means limited marine life and mostly sandy views.
Instead, we start with a Discover Scuba Dive in Casa Cenote — a stunning, clear-water cenote filled with fish, crabs, and vibrant scenery. If your first dive goes well and ocean conditions are favorable, we can follow it up with a second dive in the sea!
When is the best time to visit Tulum?
Tulum has two main seasons: the dry season (December to May) and the wet season (June to November).
- Dry season brings more tourists, meaning dive sites can be busier.
- Wet season offers quieter sites and equally beautiful cenotes, as visibility and temperature remain constant all year.
- Do keep in mind: mosquitos are more active during the wet season, so be prepared!
- At sea, wind tends to pick up slightly from February to May. If it becomes too strong, boat trips may be canceled for safety reasons.
What certification levels do you cater to?
From first-time Discover Scuba participants to advanced certified divers; every dive is matched to your level and comfort so you always feel safe and inspired.
Are you insured and certified?
Yes. Eva is an SSI Open Water Scuba Instructor and Full Cave Diver, fully insured in Mexico. All guiding follows agency standards and local regulations.
Can I get professional photos or video of my dives?
Yes. We collaborate with a seasoned underwater photographer who can create bespoke photo-video packages—ideal for keepsakes or sharing your adventure online. If you are interested please contact us for more information.
Can someone who doesn’t dive come along?
We have limited space in the car (up to 4 divers), so we prioritize divers. However, if there’s room, a non-diver is welcome to join! Many cenotes are also wonderful to explore by swimming or snorkeling.
Please note: non-divers are responsible for their own entrance fees.
What can I do as a guest?
Arrive sunscreen-free (rinse before diving), use reef-safe SPF afterward, do not use mosquito repellent before going to the water, maintain good buoyancy and follow your guide’s instructions at all times.
What should I bring for the day?
Just the essentials:
- Swimsuit
- Towel
- Dive certification card (if you’re certified)
